Background and Training

A surgical foundation, applied with restraint.

Andrew is fully qualified as a Specialist Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He holds a Bachelor of Medical Science and a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery, and completed the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons accredited training program in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

His training spans the full breadth of the specialty, with continued post-fellowship development focused on aesthetic surgery, hand surgery and skin cancer surgery. Andrew brings that surgical foundation to the way he thinks about non-surgical care: planned, conservative and anatomically grounded.

Areas of Practice

Andrew's practice covers cosmetic surgery of the breast, body and face, alongside dedicated hand and skin cancer surgery. Particular interests include:

  • Breast surgery. Cosmetic breast surgery including augmentation, planned individually after in-person assessment.
  • Abdominoplasty and body contouring. Post-pregnancy and post-weight-loss body surgery, with attention to scar placement and recovery.
  • Facial cosmetic surgery. Considered, anatomy-led approaches to the ageing face.
  • Hand surgery. Elective and trauma hand surgery within a specialist plastic surgical framework.
  • Skin cancer surgery. Excision and reconstruction of skin lesions, including facial reconstruction where required.
Clinical Governance Role at Aesthetic Haus

At Aesthetic Haus, the aesthetic division of Plastic Surgery Queensland, Dr Hadj provides clinical governance for the non-surgical service. In practice that means oversight of treatment protocols, the standards Aesthetic Nurses practise to, and the framework around assessment and patient safety.

Where a treatment plan involves a prescription medicine, a separate doctor consultation is arranged so the prescription can be issued in line with TGA requirements. Where a patient's goals may be better served by a surgical opinion, Andrew provides a direct referral pathway within the practice. All recommendations are made in the context of an in-clinic consultation.

Philosophy and Approach to Care

Andrew's stated philosophy is straightforward: the best cosmetic surgery results are the ones you do not see. The aim is refinement that looks like the patient on their best day, rather than a different person. That preference for restraint sits naturally alongside the Aesthetic Haus approach to non-surgical care.

He is methodical in assessment and conservative in recommendation, and will advise against surgery, or against a particular procedure, when it is not in a patient's interest. Decisions are framed in the context of long-term aesthetic goals rather than a single operation.

Memberships and Professional Activity

Andrew is an active member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and the Australian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS), and maintains continuing professional development across both surgical and non-surgical aesthetic medicine.
