Bio-Regeneration

Improving skin quality from within.

A medical injectable treatment that may help improve skin hydration, firmness and overall quality - without adding volume or changing facial shape. Suitability is assessed in a one-on-one consultation with a registered nurse or medical practitioner.

Bio-Regeneration
About the treatment

Bio-remodelling is a category of injectable treatment that focuses on the quality and behaviour of the skin itself rather than replacing structural volume. The goal is to support hydration, elasticity, firmness and texture in areas where skin has become lax, crepey or dull.

As we age, the skin's natural support network gradually changes. From around the age of 30, many people begin to notice mild fine lines, reduced bounce, less even tone and a loss of the 'glow' associated with younger skin. These changes are influenced by a combination of factors, including gradual decline in collagen and elastin, reduced natural hydration in the deeper layers of the skin, UV exposure and oxidative stress, hormonal change, and genetics.

Areas where bio-remodelling treatment may be considered include:

  • - Face (cheeks, sides of face, around the mouth)
  • - Neck
  • - Décolletage
  • - Back of the hands

Bio-remodelling treatment is different from wrinkle reduction injections, which work by temporarily relaxing specific muscles to soften lines created by repeated expression. It is also different from volume replacement treatments, which aim to re-support areas where structural volume has been lost. Bio-remodelling can often be considered alongside other treatments as part of an overall plan tailored at consultation.

How it works

The mechanism, in plain language.

01

The treatment uses a stabilised, highly purified medical injectable that, once placed in the skin, spreads evenly through the surrounding tissue from a small number of standardised injection points.

02

It is designed to work in two phases. First, it supports deep hydration within the skin. Second, it signals the cells responsible for producing collagen and elastin - the proteins that give skin its firmness and elasticity - encouraging the skin's own scaffold to be supported over time.

03

Because the treatment is not intended to add volume to a specific area, it does not create projection, change facial shape, or leave an 'over-filled' look when used as recommended.

What to expect

Session, settling, results.

Treatment is preceded by a medical consultation where your history, anatomy, skin condition and goals are reviewed. As part of this process you will complete a medical and psychological suitability questionnaire. Specific product names, treatment plans and pricing are discussed in person and are not advertised, in line with TGA requirements.

An individual session typically takes 15-30 minutes. A small number of injection points are used per area. Topical anaesthetic is not usually required.

Small raised bumps at the injection points immediately after treatment are normal and usually settle within around 24 hours. Mild bruising or tenderness can occur.

An initial protocol of two sessions spaced approximately four weeks apart is common. Some clients notice improvement in hydration and skin feel within the first few weeks; firmer, more even-looking skin typically develops progressively over the weeks following the second session. Results are not permanent and ongoing maintenance treatment may be considered to support the result. Outcomes vary between individuals and cannot be guaranteed.

Risks & considerations

All cosmetic procedures carry risks.

All medical procedures carry risk. Outcomes vary between individuals, and no treatment can be guaranteed. The information below is a guide only - full risks, contraindications and side effects relevant to you will be discussed in your in-person consultation.

Common, usually self-limiting: small raised bumps at the injection points that settle within around a day, tenderness, redness, mild swelling, occasional bruising.

Less common: prolonged swelling, asymmetry, small palpable lumps, delayed inflammatory or hypersensitivity reaction, infection.

Rare but serious: vascular occlusion - inadvertent injection into or compression of a blood vessel - which can cause skin necrosis or, very rarely, visual loss including blindness. Early recognition and immediate medical management is critical, which is why this treatment is performed only by appropriately trained medical practitioners with emergency protocols available on site.

Not suitable during active skin infection at the treatment site, in some autoimmune or bleeding conditions, during certain immunosuppressed states, during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with certain medications, or with a known hypersensitivity to product components. Your practitioner will assess suitability at consultation.
