Rejuran

Polynucleotide skin repair, from within.

An injectable skin-repair treatment using highly purified polynucleotides (PN) that may support skin quality, hydration and resilience. Suitability is determined in a one-on-one medical consultation.

Rejuran
About the treatment

Rejuran is a category of injectable polynucleotide (PN) treatment derived from purified DNA fragments. Rather than adding volume or relaxing muscle, it is intended to support the skin's own repair processes by signalling fibroblast activity in the dermis.

It is often considered for areas where skin quality, texture and resilience are the primary concern rather than structural volume, including the face, neck, décolletage and the delicate under-eye region.

Whether Rejuran is appropriate for you is decided in a private medical consultation that reviews your skin condition, medical history and goals. As with all injectables, it is one option within a wider plan rather than a standalone solution.

How it works

The mechanism, in plain language.

01

Polynucleotides are placed into the skin through a series of shallow microinjections across the treatment area.

02

Once in the tissue, the PN fragments are thought to support fibroblast activity, helping to maintain the dermal environment in which collagen, elastin and hydration are produced.

03

Because the effect is biological rather than volumising, results develop gradually across a course of treatments and continue to refine over the months that follow.

What to expect

Session, settling, results.

Treatment is preceded by a medical consultation where your history, skin and goals are reviewed. A medical-grade topical anaesthetic is usually applied before treatment.

An individual session takes around 30 to 45 minutes including numbing. Small raised bumps at the injection points are common immediately after treatment and typically settle within a few hours.

A typical protocol is a course of three sessions spaced two to four weeks apart, with maintenance considered every 6 to 12 months. Some clients notice early changes in hydration and skin feel within a few weeks; firmer, more even-looking skin tends to develop progressively over the following months. Outcomes vary between individuals and cannot be guaranteed.

Risks & considerations

All cosmetic procedures carry risks.

All medical procedures carry risk. Outcomes vary between individuals, and no treatment can be guaranteed. The information below is a guide only, full risks and side effects relevant to you will be discussed in your in-person consultation.

Common, usually self-limiting: small raised bumps at the injection points that settle within hours, redness, mild swelling, tenderness, occasional pinpoint bruising.

Less common: prolonged swelling, asymmetry, small palpable lumps, delayed inflammatory or hypersensitivity reaction, infection.

Rare but serious: vascular events including inadvertent injection into a blood vessel, which can cause skin compromise or, very rarely, visual disturbance. Early recognition and immediate medical management is critical, which is why this treatment is performed only by appropriately trained medical practitioners with emergency protocols on site.

Not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with active skin infection at the proposed site, in certain autoimmune or bleeding conditions, or with a known allergy to salmon, fish or seafood-derived products. Your practitioner will assess suitability at consultation.
